Ecological achievements of Azoty Tarnów in recent years...
The impact of Azoty Tarnów on the environment between 1994 (when Azoty Tarnów. joined the international „Responsible Care” programme) and 2008 has systematically been decreased and attained the following reductions:
- equivalent emissions by 1.8 times
- dust particle emissions by 14.6 times
- benzene emissions by 12.2 times (as a result of hermetically sealing stoker tanks with the application of gas scrubber vents)
- cyclohexanone emissions by 8.4 times and carbon monoxide emissions by 15 times (the effect of constructing a catalytic installation for the burning of carbon monoxide and organic compounds)
- nitrous oxide emissions by 0.9 times (as a result of replacing old nitric acid production units with modern installations)
- the amount of ammonia nitrogen load in waste water by 24.9 times (the result of limiting amounts of nitrous compounds discharged into the environment)
- the amount of water used by 1.8 times and waste water produced by 2.3 times (mainly the result of energy saving processes and stricter control of water usage)
